Graphite and black coloured pencil

 By only using black monochromatic tones, this allowed me to create various textures and contrasts which emphasise the characteristic long down-curved bill and elongated nape feathers of the Northern bald ibis. I chose this bird because I wanted to draw attention to the stunning features of the bird that go beyond the iridescence of the feathers, as I feel it is highly misunderstood.
