Innocence and Hope
29 cm x 42 cm
Watercolour base and pencil crayon detail
A few years ago I missed an opportunity to travel to Borneo where I was looking forward to seeing the work the locals are doing to nurture orphaned Orang-utans. The whole world needs to take notice of the impact palm oil plantations are having on these beautiful primates and I hope the innocence captured within my illustration helps to encourage everyone to take some responsibility.
Before qualifying as an Art teacher I studied Wildlife illustration in South Wales and in recent years have picked up my pencils to start creating my own work again. Animals, landscapes and nature have always featured in my work and I am enjoying exploring news styles and processes.
