Vultures are much maligned and have formidable reputations as aggressive scavengers, but a visit to a local Wildlife Park opened my eyes to their vital 'clean up' role and their contribution to helping contain the spread of disease. I wanted to create a softer, more sympathetic representation of a vulture and was particularly inspired by the striking colours of the Lappet-faced Vulture.

Based in the English Lake District, I have recently rediscovered my love of drawing during the recent national lockdowns.
