Hornbills are a fascinating and remarkable group of birds that fill important ecological roles throughout Asia, Africa and Melanesia. Sadly, 25 out of 62 species of hornbill are categorised as threatened by the IUCN. This piece features the great hornbill (Buceros bicornis), arguably the most recognisable and charismatic species of hornbill.
